Privacy Policy
Domino Scoreboard Live ("the app") is a real-time domino scoreboard for iOS, built and operated by an independent developer based in Denver, Colorado, United States ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We don't sell your data, we don't run third-party advertising, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. The app is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13.
What we collect
To run the live scoreboard, we collect only what's necessary to keep your room synchronized across devices:
- Anonymous account ID. When you first open the app, we create an anonymous Supabase user account identified by a randomly generated UUID. This UUID is not tied to your name, email, phone, or any personally identifiable information unless you provide it elsewhere in the app.
- Player display name. The name you type at the start of a game. This is shown to other players in your room and stored alongside your scores so the room can render the scoreboard correctly. You choose this name; we do not collect any name from your device.
- Game data. Room codes, target scores, game history (each play and its point value), and finalized scores. This data is necessary to render the scoreboard, calculate stats, and replay the game log on the post-game screen.
- Device and connection metadata. When your device communicates with our backend, our hosting provider (Supabase) automatically receives standard request data such as your IP address, user agent, and timestamp. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational logging — not for marketing.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, health data, financial data, advertising identifier (IDFA), or any data the iOS App Privacy nutrition label categorizes under "Tracking."
How we use it
Your data is used only to:
- Sync the live scoreboard across every phone in your room.
- Calculate per-game and lifetime stats for the player who created the account.
- Render the post-game recap (winner, standings, moments).
- Maintain the security and reliability of the service (rate-limiting, abuse detection, error logging).
We do not use your data to send marketing communications. We do not profile you for advertising. We do not sell your data to anyone for any purpose.
Who we share it with
The only third party that processes your data on our behalf is:
- Supabase (our database, authentication, and realtime backend). Supabase stores the data described above on infrastructure they manage. They process data as our sub-processor under the Supabase Data Processing Agreement. Supabase's privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.
If you make a purchase inside the app once paid features become available, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. We never see your payment card or full billing details. Apple's privacy policy is at apple.com/legal/privacy.
We may disclose data if required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order). We will push back on overbroad requests where we have a reasonable basis to do so.
Where data is stored
All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure, which uses cloud providers in the United States. By using the app from outside the United States, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
Game history and your anonymous account remain in our database as long as you continue to use the app. If you request deletion (see "Your rights" below), we delete your account, all rooms you created, and your game history within 30 days. Operational logs from our hosting provider are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can request that we delete all data associated with your anonymous account by emailing domino@slvrliningdesign.com from any address you can verify, or by contacting us through the in-app Support link. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you also have specific rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA, including the right to access the data we hold about you, the right to correct inaccurate data, the right to object to certain processing, and the right to data portability. Use the same email address above to exercise any of these rights.
Because we never collect personal information beyond the anonymous identifiers and the display name you choose, "access" requests typically return a small JSON file with your stats history. We respond within 30 days.
Children
The app is rated 4+ but is intended for general audiences playing dominoes (a game whose primary players are adults). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS / TLS. Data at rest in Supabase is encrypted at the storage layer. Access to production systems is restricted to the developer and Supabase's operational staff.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you have discovered a vulnerability, please email domino@slvrliningdesign.com with the subject line "Security Report" and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle your data, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, surface a notice inside the app on first launch after the change.
